國王將兵百萬眾，圍繞四山林，國王彎弓欲射鹿，聽鹿說一言。國王是迦葉，鹿是如來身，無人如鹿處，只是𮥥車大患人。昔日救汝命，何期今日害鹿身？傳語黑頭虫，世世難與恩。普勸道場諸眾生，努力各發菩提心。

The king led a host of a million soldiers and surrounded the mountain forest on all four sides. As the king drew his bow and wished to shoot the deer, he listened to the deer speak a word: "The king is Kāśyapa, and the deer is the Tathāgata's body. No one knew the deer's whereabouts; it was only that person saved from the water and deep affliction. Formerly I saved your life; who could have expected that today you would harm the deer's body? Deliver this word to black-headed beings: across lifetimes it is hard to repay kindness." We universally urge all sentient beings in the bodhimaṇḍa: strive diligently, each bringing forth the bodhicitta.
