2.87

西方實妙樂，天衣飯自然，池中化生子，
遊戲撥紅蓮。紅蓮在寶池，光色不思議，
樹林常說法，音樂每相隨。相迎上寶殿，
相喚下金橋，遊戲諸樓閣，到處法門開。
七寶為宮殿，瑠璃馬腦臺，專心能念佛，
總得上華來。白玉池邊過，蓮華葉裏香，
更聞念五會，讚歎說西方。極樂誰家子，
蓮華葉裏生，為由念佛故，從此得來生。
蓮華一叢赤，復有一聚青，裏有化生子，
言語甚分明。飛閣重重起，聖眾弟相遇，
池上寶蓮華，新賢聖者多。

The West is truly of subtle joy; / heavenly garments and food come naturally. / The spontaneously born children in the ponds / roam playfully, parting the red lotuses. / The red lotuses in the precious ponds / have inconceivable light and hues. / The groves of trees constantly preach the Dharma; / music accompanies at all times. / Welcoming each other, they ascend the jeweled palaces; / calling to each other, they descend the golden bridges. / Roaming playfully through the various towers and pavilions, / everywhere the Dharma gates open. / Seven treasures form the palaces and halls; / lapis lazuli and agate make the daises. / If with focused mind one can be mindful of the Buddha, / all can ascend the flowers. / Passing by the white jade ponds, / fragrance lingers inside the lotus petals. / Further one hears the five tones recited, / in praise speaking of the West. / Whose children are these in Sukhāvatī, / born inside the lotus petals? / Because of buddha-mindfulness, / they have come to be born from this. / A cluster of lotus blossoms is crimson; / another gathering is azure. / Within them are spontaneously born children, / whose speech is distinct and clear. / Soaring pavilions rise tier upon tier; / the holy multitude meet as brothers. / Upon the ponds, on the precious lotus blossoms, / newly arrived worthy and holy ones are many.
