往鳳林，路逢一婆。婆問：「甚處去？」師云：「鳳林去。」婆云：「恰值鳳林不在。」師云：「甚處去？」婆便行，師乃喚婆，婆回頭，師便打。

On the way to Fenglin, he met an old woman on the road. The old woman asked, "Where are you going?" The Master said, "I am going to Fenglin." The old woman said, "It just so happens that Fenglin is not there." The Master said, "Where did he go?" The old woman walked on. The Master called to her. The old woman turned her head, and the Master struck her at once.
