師到達磨塔頭，塔主云：「長老先禮佛？先禮祖？」師云：「佛、祖俱不禮。」塔主云：「佛、祖與長老是什麼冤家？」師便拂袖而出。

The Master arrived at Bodhidharma's stupa. The stupa keeper said, "Will the elder pay respects first to the Buddha, or pay respects first to the Patriarch?" The Master said, "I pay respects to neither the Buddha nor the Patriarch." The stupa keeper said, "What enmity do the Buddha and the Patriarch have with the elder?" The Master flicked his sleeves and walked out.
