師行脚時到龍光，光上堂，師出，問云：「不展鋒鋩如何得勝？」光據坐。師云：「大善知識豈無方便？」光瞪目，云：「嗄。」師以手指云：「這老漢今日敗闕也。」

During his travels, the Master arrived at Longguang. Longguang ascended the hall. The Master stepped forward and asked, "Without baring blade and point, how can one attain victory?" Longguang remained firmly seated. The Master said, "Can a great kalyāṇamitra be without skillful means?" Longguang stared with wide eyes and said, "Ha!" The Master pointed with his finger and said, "Today this old fellow is defeated."
