上堂曰：「坐斷主人公，不落第二見。」北院出眾云：「須知有一人不合伴。」師曰：「猶是第二見。」院便掀倒禪床。師曰：「老兄作麼生？」院云：「待某甲舌頭爛，即向和尚道。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "Sit through the master, not falling into second views." Beiyuan came out from the assembly and said: "One must know that there is one person who does not join as a companion." The Master said: "That is still a second view." Beiyuan thereupon overturned the meditation seat. The Master said: "Venerable brother, what are you doing?" Beiyuan said: "Wait until my tongue rots away, and then I will speak to you, upādhyāya."
