1.44

早參，疎山仁出問：「未有之言，請師示誨。」師曰：「不諾無人肯。」疎云：「還可切也無。」師曰：「爾即今還切得麼？」疎云：「切不得即無諱處。」

At morning instruction, Shushan Ren came forward and asked: "Regarding words not yet spoken, I ask the Master for your instruction." The Master said: "Without consent, no one approves." Shushan said: "Can it still be intimate or not?" The Master said: "Right now, can you be intimate with it?" Shushan said: "If one cannot be intimate with it, there is nowhere to conceal it."
