師示眾曰：「五洩先師一日沐浴焚香端坐告眾曰：『法身圓寂，示有去來，千聖同源，萬靈歸一。吾今漚散，胡假興衰，無自勞神，須存正念。若遵此命，真報吾恩，儻固違言，非吾之子。』時有僧問：『和尚向甚麼處去？』洩曰：『無處去。』云：『某甲何不見？』洩曰：『非眼所覩。』」師曰：「作家。」

The Master instructed the assembly, saying: "One day the late Master Wuxie bathed, burned incense, sat upright, and announced to the assembly: 'The dharmakāya is completely tranquil, yet shows coming and going. The thousand sages share the same source; the myriad spirits return to unity. My foam is now dispersing; why should one feign flourishing or decline? Do not weary your minds in vain; you must maintain right mindfulness. If you obey this command, you truly repay my kindness; if you stubbornly go against these words, you are not my disciples.' At the time, a monk asked, 'Where is the upādhyāya going?' Wuxie said, 'Going nowhere.' The monk said, 'Why does this one not see it?' Wuxie said, 'It is not something seen by eyes.'" The Master said, "An adept."
