At that time, a monk said: 'The bull has given birth to a calf; it is merely that the Upādhyāya does not say it.' Yaoshan said: 'Attendant, bring a lamp!' The monk drew back and slipped into the assembly. Yunyan related this to the Master. The Master said: 'That monk understood, but he was simply unwilling to bow.'
