師問雲居：「甚處去來？」雲居云：「蹋山來。」師云：「那箇山堪住？」雲居云：「那箇山不堪住。」師云：「恁麼則國內總被闍黎占却？」雲居云：「不然。」師云：「恁麼則子得箇入路？」雲居云：「無路。」師云：「若無路，爭得與老僧相見？」雲居云：「若有路，即與和尚隔山去也。」師乃云：「此子，已後千人萬人把不住去在。」

The Master asked Yunju, "Where have you been?" Yunju said, "I have been walking the mountains." The Master said, "Which mountain is fit to dwell on?" Yunju said, "No mountain is fit to dwell on." The Master said, "If so, then has the whole country been occupied by you, Ācārya?" Yunju said, "It is not so." The Master said, "If so, then have you found an entry path?" Yunju said, "There is no path." The Master said, "If there is no path, how could you meet with this old monk?" Yunju said, "If there were a path, then I would be separated from you, Upādhyāya, by mountains." The Master then said, "In the future, even ten thousand people will not be able to hold this fellow back."
