僧問：「學人通身是病，請師醫。」師曰：「不醫。」僧云：「為甚麼不醫？」師曰：「教汝求生不得、求死不得。」
A monk asked, "My entire body is diseased; I ask the Master to cure me." The Master said, "I will not cure you." The monk said, "Why will you not cure me?" The Master said, "To make you unable to seek life, and unable to seek death."
