Yunmen asked, 'What is the conduct of a śramaṇa?' The Master said, 'Eating the grain of the permanent property is it.' Yunmen said, 'What about when one goes along just like that?' The Master said, 'Can you still domesticate it?' Yunmen said, 'I can domesticate it.' The Master said, 'How do you domesticate it?' Yunmen said, 'Wearing clothes and eating rice—what difficulty is there?' The Master said, 'Why did you not say "wearing fur and sporting horns"?' Yunmen thereupon bowed.
