師聞鐘聲，乃曰：「阿㖿阿㖿。」僧問：「和尚作甚麼？」師曰：「打著我心。」僧無對。（五祖戒戒云：「作賊人心虛。」）
The Master, hearing the sound of a bell, thereupon said, "Ouch, ouch!" A monk asked, "What is the Master doing?" The Master said, "It struck my heart." The monk had no reply. (Wuzu Jie said, "A person who acts as a thief has a guilty conscience.")
