僧問：「日未出時如何？」師曰：「曹山也曾恁麼來。」僧云：「出後如何？」師曰：「猶較曹山半月程。」

A monk asked, "What is it like before the sun rises?" The Master said, "Caoshan too has come like this." The monk said, "What about after it has risen?" The Master said, "It is still half a month's journey away from Caoshan."
