2.13

洞山到椑樹。椑問曰：「來作什麼？」山云：「親近和尚。」椑曰：「若是親近，用動兩片皮作麼？」山無對。師曰：「一子親得。」僧問洞山：「三身之中，阿那身不墮眾數？」山曰：「吾常于此切。」僧問師：「先師道：『吾常于此切。』意作麼生？」師曰：「要頭便斫去。」

Dongshan went to Peishu. Pei asked, "What have you come to do?" Shan said, "To draw close to the Venerable." Pei said, "If it is drawing close, what is the use of moving two flaps of skin?" Shan had no reply. The Master said, "A single child was intimate with him." A monk asked Dongshan, "Among the three bodies, which body does not fall into numbers?" Shan said, "I am always eager about this." A monk asked the Master, "The late master said, 'I am always eager about this.' What was the meaning?" The Master said, "If you want the head, just chop it off."
