上堂云：「大眾！汝等還有鄆州針麼？若有，試將來看。有麼有麼？」眾無對，師云：「若無，散披衣裳去也。」便下座。

Ascending the hall, he said: "Assembly! Do you still have a needle from Yunzhou? If you have one, try bringing it out for me to see! Is there one? Is there one?" The assembly had no reply. The Master said: "If not, I will go scatter-wearing my robes!" He then stepped down from the seat.
