上堂云：「夫學般若菩薩，須識得眾生病，即識得學般若菩薩病。還有人揀得麼？出來對眾揀看。」眾無語，乃云：「若揀不得，莫妨我東行西行。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "A bodhisattva studying prajñā must recognize the sickness of sentient beings, and thereby recognize the sickness of a bodhisattva studying prajñā. Is there anyone who can pick it out? Come out before the assembly and try to pick it out." The assembly said nothing. He then said: "If you cannot pick it out, do not hinder me from walking east and walking west."
