舉：「韋監軍見帳子畫牛抵樹，問僧：『牛抵樹，樹抵牛？』無對。」師代云：「歸依佛法僧。」

[The Master] cited: "Army Supervisor Wei saw an ox butting a tree painted on a screen, and asked a monk: 'Does the ox butt the tree, or does the tree butt the ox?' There was no answer." The Master answered on his behalf, "Take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha."
