舉：「國師云：『語漸也返常合道，論頓也不留眹跡。』」師云：「拈槌竪拂彈指時節，皆撿點來，也未是無眹跡。」

He cited: "The National Teacher said, 'Speaking of the gradual, it turns away from convention and accords with the Way; discussing the sudden, it leaves behind not a single trace.'" The Master said, "Picking up the mallet, raising the whisk, snapping the fingers—examining all such moments, they are still not without traces."
