示眾云：「爾等諸人每日上來下去，問訊即不無，若過水時將什麼過？」有久住僧對云：「步。」師深喜之。

He instructed the assembly, saying: "All of you come up and go down every day, and making inquiries is certainly not absent; but when crossing water, with what do you cross?" A long-residing monk answered, saying: "Steps." The Master was deeply pleased with this.
