舉：「僧辭大隨，隨問：『什麼處去？』僧云：『峨嵋禮拜普賢去。』隨拈起拂子云：『文殊普賢總在者裏。』其僧畫一圓相，拋向背後，却展兩手，隨云：『侍者將一貼茶來與者僧。』」師舉了云：「我即不與麼？」有僧云：「和尚又如何？」師云：「西天斬頭截臂，者裏自領出去。」

He cited: "A monk took leave of Dasui. Dasui asked, 'Where are you going?' The monk said, 'Going to Mount Emei to pay homage to Samantabhadra.' Dasui held up his whisk and said, 'Mañjuśrī and Samantabhadra are both right here.' The monk drew a circle, tossed it behind his back, and spread open both hands. Dasui said, 'Attendant, bring a packet of tea and give it to this monk.'" After citing this, the Master said, "I would not do so." A monk said, "How would the upādhyāya do it?" The Master said, "In the Western Heavens, heads are cut off and arms are severed; here, lead yourself out!"
