師有時云：「一顆圓光明已久，還有人問麼？」僧便問：「如何是一顆圓光明已久？」師云：「西天斬頭截臂。」又云：「除却須彌山，拈却佛殿脊。」

The Master at times said, "A single orb of perfect light has long been bright; is there still anyone who asks?" A monk then asked, "What is 'a single orb of perfect light has long been bright'?" The Master said, "In India, chopping off the head and severing the arms." He also said, "Remove Mount Sumeru, take away the ridgepole of the Buddha hall."
