示眾云：「一舉不再說，作麼生是一舉？」又云：「爾若不相當，且覓箇入頭路，微塵諸佛盡在爾舌頭上，三藏聖教在爾脚跟下，不如悟去好。還有人悟得麼？出來道看。」代云：「養子之緣。」代前語云：「長安雖樂。」

Instructing the assembly, he said, "Raised once, it is not spoken again. What is being raised once?" He also said, "If you do not correspond, then seek a way in: the dust-mote Buddhas are all on your tongue-tips, and the sacred teachings of the Tripiṭaka are under your heels. It is better to go and awaken. Is there anyone who has awakened? Come out and speak, let us see!" Answering on their behalf, he said, "The condition of raising a child." Answering on behalf of the earlier speech, he said, "Though Chang'an is delightful..."
