2.22

師有時云：「大用現前，不存軌則。」僧便問：「如何是大用現前？」師乃拈拄杖高聲唱云：「釋迦老子來也。」

The Master once said, "When the great function manifests before you, no rules are maintained." A monk then asked, "What is the manifestation of the great function?" The Master then held up his staff and called out in a loud voice, "Old Śākya has come!"
