2.24

師有時云：「看看法身變作燈籠，超佛越祖之談從爾脚跟下過也。」僧云：「脚跟下認得時如何？」師云：「鈍置殺我。」僧云：「與麼則逈然不在者裏也。」師云：「十萬八千。」

The Master once said, "Look! The dharmakāya has turned into a lantern; talk that transcends the Buddhas and surpasses the Patriarchs has passed beneath your heels." A monk said, "What about when one recognizes it beneath one's heels?" The Master said, "You would embarrass me to death." The monk said, "If so, then it is utterly absent here." The Master said, "A hundred and eight thousand [li away]."
