師或云：「從上祖師三世諸佛說法，山河大地草木為什麼不省去？」代云：「新到行人事」。又云：「和尚京中喫麫多。」

The master on another occasion said, "The ancestral masters from above and the Buddhas of the three periods expound the Dharma; why do the mountains, rivers, great earth, grasses, and trees not understand?" Answering on their behalf, he said, "A newcomer performing courtesy calls." He also said, "The upādhyāya ate a lot of noodles in the capital."
