2.30

舉：「槃山云：『光境俱忘，復是何物？』」師云：「東海裏藏身，須彌山上走馬。」復以拄杖打床一下，大眾眼目定動，乃拈拄杖趁散云：「將謂靈利者漆桶。」

He cited: "Panshan said, 'When both light and objects are forgotten, what thing is it again?'" The Master said, "Hiding the body in the Eastern Sea, galloping a horse atop Mount Sumeru." He struck the couch a blow with his staff; as the assembly's eyes darted about, he then brandished his staff to drive them away, saying, "I thought they were clever—these lacquer buckets!"
