師有時云：「諸方拈槌竪拂云會麼？但云莫壓良為賤，却云是是，待伊擬議便打。」

The Master once said, "In all directions they take up the mallet and raise the whisk, saying, 'Do you understand?' You should just say, 'Do not oppress the respectable into being base.' Instead, you say, 'Yes, yes,' and wait for them to hesitate before striking!"
