師或拈起拄杖問僧：「這箇汝不得道著，作麼生是衲僧孔竅？」無對。又云：「爾若道不得，向鼻孔裏道將一句來。」代云：「新羅火鐵鄆州針。」又云：「疋上不足。」

The Master held up his staff and asked a monk: "You are not allowed to say anything about this; what is the aperture of a patch-robed monk?" There was no response. He also said: "If you cannot speak, speak a phrase toward the nostrils!" Answering on their behalf, he said: "Silla strike-a-light, Yunzhou needle." He also said: "Insufficient for a bolt of cloth."
