因僧來參，師拈起袈裟云：「爾若道得，落我袈裟綣繢裏；爾若道不得，又在鬼窟裏座。作麼生？」代云：「某甲無氣力。」

When a monk came for an interview, the Master held up his kaṣāya and said: "If you can speak, you fall into the folds of my kaṣāya; if you cannot speak, you sit again in the demon's cave. What about it?" Answering on their behalf, he said: "I have no strength."
