師舉古人云：「至道無難，唯嫌揀擇。這箇是僧堂，這箇是佛殿，那箇是不揀擇？」代云：「何必如此。」

The Master cited an ancient: "'The Great Way is not difficult; it only dislikes picking and choosing.' This is the sangha hall, this is the Buddha hall—which one is not picking and choosing?" Answering on their behalf, he said, "What need is there to be like this?"
