師或以拄杖打露柱一下云：「爾作麼生不說禪？」復云：「埋沒人家男女。」無對。自云：「擔枷過狀。」自代前語云：「爭怪得別人。」

The Master would sometimes strike the exposed pillar once with his staff and say, "Why don't you explain Chan?" He added, "Burying other people's sons and daughters." There was no response. He said himself, "Carrying the cangue to file a complaint." Answering on their behalf for his earlier statement, he said, "How can one blame someone else?"
