師因卸却七條，語僧云：「汝道來生莫不會佛法麼？」僧無語，代云：「和尚幸是大人。」又云：「某甲不敢道。」復云：「為什麼不敢道？」又云：「自有和尚在。」

When taking off his seven-strip robe, the Master addressed a monk, saying, "Tell me, in a future life, will you perhaps not understand the Buddha-Dharma?" The monk was silent. Answering on their behalf, he said, "Fortunately, the Upādhyāya is a great man." He also said, "I would not dare say." He asked again, "Why do you not dare say?" He also said, "The Upādhyāya himself is present."
