2.60

舉：「經云：『經書呪術一切文字語言，皆與實相不相違背。』」師拈拄杖云：「者箇是什麼？若道是拄杖，入地獄；不是拄杖，是什麼？」

He brought up: "A sūtra says: 'Scriptures, spells, and all written words and spoken language do not contradict the dharmatā.'" The Master held up his staff and said, "What is this? If you say it is a staff, you enter hell; if it is not a staff, what is it?"
