問僧：「看什麼經？」僧云：「《般若經》。」師云：「作麼生是清淨？」僧云：「共和尚商量了。」師云：「驢年夢見。」又云：「來來，更共儞葛藤。蚊幮裏藏身，東海裏魚勃跳上三十三天，作麼生？」僧云：「和尚與麼道即得。」師云：「這虛頭漢。」

He asked a monk, "What sūtra are you reading?" The monk said, "The Prajñā Sūtra." The Master said, "What is purity?" The monk said, "I have already discussed it with the Upādhyāya." The Master said, "In the year of the donkey you might dream of it." He also said, "Come, come, let me entangle with you further: hiding one's body inside a mosquito net, the fish in the eastern sea leaps up to the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven—how about that?" The monk said, "It is fine for the Upādhyāya to speak thus." The Master said, "This fraudulent fellow!"
