問僧：「看什麼經？」僧云：「《般若經》。」師云：「作麼生是清淨？」僧云：「什麼處不清淨。」師云：「繩床入枇杷樹裏去也，見麼？」僧云：「和尚莫瞞人。」師云：「瞞人且置，儞道我作麼生？」無對，師云：「這掠虛漢。」

He asked a monk, "What sūtra are you reading?" The monk said, "The Prajñā Sūtra." The Master said, "What is purity?" The monk said, "What place is not pure?" The Master said, "The rope chair has entered the loquat tree; do you see it?" The monk said, "Upādhyāya, do not deceive people." The Master said, "Deceiving people aside, what do you say I am doing?" There was no response. The Master said, "This fellow who plucks at emptiness!"
