有南雄僧，上白㲲一段，師云：「汝道我向什麼處著？」僧無語，師代云：「拄杖頭上。」師却問傍僧：「儞在南雄時識此僧麼？」僧云：「識。」師云：「喚去茶堂內喫茶。」

A monk from Nanxiong presented a piece of white cotton cloth. The Master said, "Where do you say I should put it?" The monk was silent. The Master answered on his behalf, "On the tip of the staff." The Master then asked an adjoining monk, "Did you know this monk when you were in Nanxiong?" The monk said, "I knew him." The Master said, "Call him to drink tea in the tea hall."
