師在雪峯，與長慶西院商量，雪峯上堂云：「盡大地撮來，如粟米粒大，拋向面前。漆桶不會，打鼓普請看。」西院問師：「雪峯與麼道，還有出頭不得處麼？」師云：「有。」院云：「作麼生是出頭不得處？」師云：「不可總作野狐精見解也。」又云：「狼藉不少。」又云：「七曜麗天。」又云：「南閻浮提，北欝單越。」

When the Master was at Xuefeng, he discussed with Changqing and Xiyuan. Xuefeng ascended the hall and said, "Gathering the entire great earth, it is like the size of a millet grain, tossed down before you. If you rice-tubs do not understand, strike the drum and call everyone to look!" Xiyuan asked the Master, "Xuefeng speaking like this—is there still a place from which one cannot poke one's head out?" The Master said, "There is." Yuan said, "What is the place from which one cannot poke one's head out?" The Master said, "One must not entirely take the view of a wild fox spirit." He also said, "No small mess." He also said, "The seven luminaries shine brilliantly in the sky." He also said, "Jambudvīpa in the south, Uttarakuru in the north."
