3.62

因齋次，問僧：「者裏還有超佛越祖之談麼？」僧云：「有。」師云：「什麼處去也？」無對。代云：「新羅國裏。」又云：「和尚恐某甲不實。」代前語云：「喫飯時不合與麼道。」

During the midday meal, he asked a monk, "Is there still any talk here that surpasses the Buddhas and transcends the Patriarchs?"
The monk said, "There is."
The Master said, "Where has it gone?"
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, [the Master] said, "In the country of Silla."
He also said, "The Upādhyāya feared I was not being genuine."
Answering on behalf of the earlier statement, he said, "At the time of eating rice, one ought not to speak like that."
