3.68

師問飯頭：「佛是千百億化身，爾每日作飯一杓幾箇釋迦老子？」無對。代云：「一僧一升米。」又云：「今日齋飯較細。」

The Master asked the rice steward, "The Buddha is hundreds of thousands of myriads of transformation bodies; every day when you make rice, how many Old Śākyas are in a single ladle?"
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, [the Master] said, "One monk, one sheng of rice."
He also said, "Today's midday rice is relatively fine."
