問新到：「爾是甚處人？」僧云：「新羅人。」師云：「將什麼過海？」僧云：「草賊大敗。」師云：「爾為什麼在我手裏？」僧云：「恰是。」師云：「㪍跳。」無對。代前語云：「常得此便。」又云：「一任㪍跳。」

He asked a newcomer, "Where are you from?" The monk said, "A man of Silla." The Master said, "What did you take across the sea?" The monk said, "The grass-bandits were utterly defeated." The Master said, "Why are you in my hands?" The monk said, "Precisely so." The Master said, "Jump!" There was no reply. Answering on his behalf for the previous remark, he said, "I always get this advantage." He also said, "Let it jump as it pleases."
