1.26

師問雙峯：「師弟近日見處如何？」云：「據某見處，實無一法可當情。」師云：「汝解猶在境。」云：「某祇如此，師兄又如何？」師云：「汝豈不知？無一法可當情者。」溈山聞云：「寂子一句，疑殺天下人。」（玄覺云：「經道『實無有法，然燈佛與我授記』，他道『實無一法可當情』，為甚麼道『解猶在境』？且道利害在甚麼處？」）

The Master asked Shuangfeng: "How is your view recently, junior brother?" He said: "According to my view, truly there is not a single dharma that can engage feelings." The Master said: "Your understanding still remains in the objective realm." He said: "Mine is just like this; how about the elder brother's?" The Master said: "Do you not know? The one for whom not a single dharma can engage feelings." When Guishan heard of this, he said: "That one phrase of Jizi's perplexes everyone under heaven to death." (Xuanjue said: "The sūtra says: 'Truly there was no dharma by which Dīpaṃkara Buddha bestowed prediction upon me.' He said: 'Truly there is not a single dharma that can engage feelings.' Why say: 'Understanding still remains in the objective realm'? Tell me, where does the advantage and disadvantage lie?")
