僧問：「大耳三藏第三度為甚麼不見國師？」師云：「前兩度是涉境心，後入自受用三昧，所以不見。」

A monk asked, "Why did the Tripiṭaka Master of Great Ears fail to see the National Teacher on the third occasion?" The Master said, "The first two times were minds involved in sensory objects; later he entered the samādhi of self-enjoyment, and therefore could not be seen."
