舉：「祕魔和尚，常持一木叉，每見僧來禮拜，即叉頸云：『道得也叉下死，道不得也叉下死。速道速道。』學徒鮮有對者。」師代云：「乞命乞命。」

[The Master] cited: "The Upādhyāya Mimi always held a wooden fork. Whenever he saw a monk come to prostrate, he would fork him by the neck and say, 'If you can speak, you die under the fork; if you cannot speak, you die under the fork. Speak quickly, speak quickly!' Few among the students could answer." The Master spoke in their place: "Spare my life! Spare my life!"
