師問寶資長老：「古人道：『山河無隔礙，光明處處透。』且作麼生是處處透底光明？」寶資云：「東畔打羅聲。」（歸宗柔別云：「和尚擬隔礙。」）

The master asked Elder Baozi, "The ancients said: 'Mountains and rivers present no obstruction; the clear light penetrates everywhere.' What is this light that penetrates everywhere?" Baozi said, "The sound of striking a gong in the east." (Guizong Rou offered an alternative: "The upādhyāya is intending obstruction.")
