泗州塔前，一僧禮拜，有人問：「上座日日禮拜，還見大聖麼？」師代云：「汝道，禮拜是甚麼義？」

In front of the pagoda of Sizhou, a monk was prostrating. Someone asked, "Sthavira, you prostrate day after day; do you actually see the Great Saint?" The Master spoke in his place: "Tell me, what is the meaning of prostration?"
