舉：「初祖迦葉尊者，一日踏泥次，有一沙彌見乃問：『尊者何得自為？』祖云：『我若不為，誰為我為？』」師云：「我當時若見，拽來踏泥。」

[The Master] cited: "One day, while the First Patriarch, the Venerable Kāśyapa, was treading mud, a śrāmaṇera saw him and asked, 'Venerable One, why do this yourself?' The Patriarch said, 'If I do not do it, who will do it for me?'" The Master said, "Had I seen him at that time, I would have dragged him over to tread mud."
