「三玄三要事難分，得意忘言道易親，一句分明該萬象，重陽九日菊花新。」師云：「會麼？恁麼會得，不是性[惚-勿+喿]衲僧。作麼生會好？久立珍重。」

"The matters of the three mysteries and three essentials are hard to divide; / When one grasps the meaning and forgets words, the Way is easily approached. / A single phrase clearly covers the ten thousand phenomena; / On the ninth day of the Double Ninth, the chrysanthemums are fresh." The Master said: "Do you understand? To understand in this way is not to be a hot-tempered patch-robed monk. How is it best understood? You have been standing for long; take care."
