Ascending the hall, the Master said, "All dharmas are originally liberated and free of bonds. Therefore the sūtra says: 'There is none bound, none liberated.'" A monk asked, "What is the wisdom of liberation?" The Master said, "No one can subdue it." "What is the prajñā of liberation?" The Master said, "The whole body has no reflection; throughout the realm it has never been hidden." "I wonder, what is this principle?" The Master said, "Wait until you awaken, then you will get it." He asked, "Who is the master of Vairocana's Dharmakāya?" The Master said, "Vairocana's Ocean of the Flower Treasury; the Dharma realm is inconceivable." "In that case, then I have recognized the Master." The Master said, "Where a thousand rays do not shine, how could the myriad phenomena conceal the pivot?" He asked, "'When broad, it pervades the Dharma realm; when narrow, it does not admit a needle.' What is: 'when narrow, it does not admit a needle'?" The Master said, "If the true command is executed, the great assembly is terrified." "What is: 'when broad, it pervades the Dharma realm'?" The Master said, "The dragon soars through the blue sea without obstruction; the crane leaves the azure sky without hindering space." "In that case, then there is neither obstacle nor hindrance." The Master said, "Quickly make three prostrations." He asked, "When confronted with objects the mind frequently arises—how about that?" The Master said, "Mundane conditions recall places once traversed in the past; how could one speak of this to one who understands emptiness?" "I wonder, how can it be dispelled?" The Master said, "Again like the noble one of non-action, horizontally stretching his body alone outside emptiness." He asked, "What about when both feet were shown from the coffin?" The Master said, "Hundreds of thousands of myriads, at that moment their doubts ceased." "In that case, then passing through the monks' hall, one enters the Buddha hall." The Master said, "Among humans and devas, how many can know?"
