定光昔日記能仁，布髮掩泥多劫僧，此錄慈尊親囑我，便從今日續然燈。

In the past, Dīpaṃkara recorded Śākyamuni, / the monk of many kalpas who spread his hair to cover the mud. / In this record, the Compassionate Honored One personally entrusted it to me; / from this day forth, the lamp of burning flame is continued.
